>>> Interactive Scary Movie Websites

Interactive Scary Movie Websites! Watching movies "online free of charge" is a common practice. Even for movies who have not even visited DVD yet there are sites all around us where people can post movies to watch that people have secretly taken a youtube video camera in to a movie showing and recorded the entire movie with their computer. After that it just takes a search in the internet to locate said movie. While the experience isn't the same as investing in it and seeing it in the theater people who just want to go to a movie can find myriads of places online to observe.

Even YouTube has places for fan videos that disguise themselves as places to view movies online. Piracy was previously getting bootleg copies of VHS tapes and DVDs but now movie piracy could be even harder to manipulate thanks to the internet.

Financial Fallout

Movie piracy cost U.S. movie studios over 1.3 billion dollars in 2005 mostly due to the internet within an article posted to Torrent Freak. A 2004 survey conducted from the Motion Picture Associated of America claims those of 3,600 internet surfers surveyed 24 percent said they had downloaded a movie online according to an article in PC World. Surely the numbers must be even more at this point. Further, 69% of the respondents felt that downloading a film online was not a "major concern."

More recently, downloading movies and streaming these phones internet can be so prevalent in Spain that that quantity of DVD stores has dropped 25% since 2003 along with the illegal pirating of movies is threatening to end the DVD industry in Spain altogether. Business Insider quoted Michael Lynton of Sony as saying "Spain is for the brink of don't being a viable marketplace for us." This was in late March of 2010.

The symptom in Spain could possibly be a Catch-22. If DVDs are no more sold in Spain then the industry for pirated copies of movies may even more lucrative and pirates can get more creative and much more ardent to the product. Just like making drugs illegal the demand won't vanish entirely so prices will spike plus an entire underground community may develop and things may get a lot more out of control.

Perhaps one more reason for piracy besides not purchasing expensive movie tickets is spoofed within this piece on Business Insider. Like movies in the theater, DVDs are in possession of previews, trailers, and advertising to them. When you can watch a pirated copy without any ads that merely simply gets to the movie without 10 minutes worth of advertising, probably the feeling of apathy in your consumerist contemporary society is reaching a breaking point.

Anti-Piracy Measures

France and Britain are at the forefront in anti-piracy measures. In a New York Times article in March of 2010, Parliament is around the verge of considering a law that will allow authorities to totally cut off internet connection to people who download movies illegally from the web. France has recently passed a law as a result but has yet to implement it. Civil liberties groups are watching what the law states closely and so are wary the measure might go too far.

While these laws are created to protect a niche industry from falling in value, again we have to point to illegal drugs just as one mirror to movie piracy. The problem with drugs aren't the small time dealers that are trying to make money when they have no idea of any other way though the large suppliers and drug cartels who allow them to have the drugs in the first place. Movie downloaders are the same way. The problem must not be the people who watch free movies online for free but those that pirate the flicks and put them around the internet inside first place. Cut off the head along with the body dies.

In late March of 2010, The Hollywood Reporter posted a special article stating that this US Copyright Group has sued a lot more than 20,000 torrent users for illegal piracy of movies. Another lawsuit is forthcoming that targets more than 30,000 users for five particular movie titles. It appears the film market is not taking this lightly.

New Formats

Blu-Ray discs and the new 3-D format might help to tackle the piracy problem in their own way. If a motion picture is being touted as only able to be affecting 3-D then it would be harder to get a copy of it straight out of a camera version taken inside movie theater. The DVD could be the only way to look at it.

Another method to combat piracy is usually to make online services including Netflix cheaper. What you would lose in price may be made up for in volume. Perhaps making movie ticket prices somewhat cheaper would help too. There are all sorts of things the film industry are capable of doing in order to combat piracy which has nothing to do with filing case.

For most of these measures being taken up sue people that break the law you will find always sites like YouTube that frequently can't get caught up with illegal downloads. Episodes of shows, movies, plus more can be found on sites like YouTube, Veoh, and LiveVideo all at no cost. Until those websites may be more vigilant about removing copyrighted content then men and women continue to watch pirated videos.

On the whole, movie piracy is bad for your film industry while they lose money. The problem then becomes if they can stem the piracy problem will movie ticket prices actually go lower? Will online viewing services like NetFlix lower their prices in the event the movie industry is recouping doing this money? There has have got to be a give-and-take attitude about it problem. There has got to be some incentive for users to wish to pay for a show. Spending money is definitely good to the economy even if it means purchasing enjoying a film.

Another the answer to consider will be the current state in the economy. People are still hurting financially and can want to get things totally free or little cost for as long as possible. When that carrot goes away then a movie industry must adjust to lure those customers back to seeing movies otherwise the movie piracy problem will just read more creative instead of disappear.
